My specialty track is a family nurse practitioner. It typically entails working in collaboration with other healthcare practitioners in delivering services that are family-focused.  One of the common issues in my future setting is childhood obesity. As noted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2018), the rate of childhood obesity in the United States has increased by three folds in the last four decades.  Currently, more than 30 percent of children in the United States are either overweight or obese, with the number continuing to rise drastically.  The issue of childhood obesity impacts the healthcare system at micro, meso, as well as macro levels. At micro levels, childhood obesity significantly affects the health outcomes of the children.
